Contribution Terms
Version 6
Effective October 25, 2026.
Your contribution
These terms govern contributions through Naija We Can fundraising pages. Review the campaign, amount, currency, frequency, optional gift and notices before authorizing payment. Provide accurate contributor information and use a payment method you are authorized to use. Company contributions must identify the company and an authorized contact. Contributions are subject to applicable eligibility and legal requirements and may be declined or returned when required by law or the payment provider.
Purposes
By contributing, you understand that your contribution supports Naija We Can’s polling-unit funding and other lawful political activities aimed at deepening democracy in Nigeria. Where the relevant campaign expressly identifies a candidate, its disclosed purposes may also include advancing that candidate’s campaign efforts. Funding does not determine agent assignments, verification decisions or election results. A contribution does not guarantee exclusive sponsorship, a particular deployment or a political outcome. Campaign-specific representations made when a contribution is accepted remain part of its record.
No refunds
All contributions and optional gifts are final and non-refundable, except where a refund, return or correction is required by applicable law or binding payment-provider requirements. This policy does not waive rights relating to unauthorized transactions or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived. Report an unauthorized, duplicate or incorrectly processed transaction promptly to support@naijawecan.org so it can be investigated and any required correction made. A change of mind does not create a refund entitlement under this policy.
Polling-unit allocation
Your contribution will be allocated to your polling unit or polling units of choice. Should a polling unit you contribute to be sufficiently funded, your contributions may be used for another polling unit. When you select multiple polling units, your campaign contribution is divided equally among them. Any remaining cents are assigned in polling-unit code order. Your optional Naija We Can gift is separate.
Recurring contributions
By choosing weekly or monthly giving and authorizing checkout, you authorize charges at the selected amount and interval until canceled. Any recurring optional gift is included in the total shown before authorization. You can request cancellation using the available contribution-management controls or by contacting support@naijawecan.org. Cancellation stops future charges once effective; it does not refund prior contributions or reverse charges already processed. Contact support promptly if a payment is imminent.
Recurring polling-unit rollover
For recurring contributions, if a selected polling unit is fully funded or cannot accept its full share, that share, or its remaining portion, will automatically support the next available polling unit in the same ward, then the same local government area, then the same state. Available polling units are considered in code order. Your contribution amount and frequency will not increase. If the full campaign contribution cannot be allocated within that state, future charges will pause. Your confirmation will show the polling units actually supported. You may cancel future contributions at any time.
Optional gifts and processing
Any optional Naija We Can gift is separate from the campaign contribution and is shown in the payment summary. Payment-provider fees and settlement adjustments may affect the net funds available. No additional platform percentage or fee is authorized by these terms unless it is expressly disclosed before payment. A pending or failed checkout is not confirmation that funds have been received. Only verified successful payments are recorded as received.
Tax treatment and reporting
Contributions and optional gifts to Naija We Can are not deductible as charitable contributions for U.S. federal income tax purposes. A contribution confirmation is a transaction record, not a promise of a charitable deduction. By contributing, you acknowledge and consent to the collection and disclosure of contributor information for required IRS and other regulatory reporting. Mandatory disclosures may be public and may apply regardless of consent. You agree to provide accurate information and assist with necessary corrections.
Privacy and authorized sharing
Our Donor Privacy Notice describes information collection, use, retention and disclosure. Naija We Can may, at its discretion and subject to applicable law, share relevant information with vendors, service providers, contractors, agents, professional advisers and authorized campaign personnel to operate its services, administer contributions and campaigns, communicate lawfully, maintain records and meet legal obligations. This does not waive privacy rights or replace any separate notice or consent required for materially different uses or independent third-party marketing.
Communications and responsible use
We may provide transaction, security and support messages concerning your contribution. Optional outreach and third-party communications remain subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements. Do not submit false information, use another person’s payment method without permission, interfere with the service or send unlawful content. You choose the recipients of any invitation and decide whether to send it.
Changes and contact
Administrators may update campaign notices and these terms prospectively. Material changes require any notice or consent applicable law requires and do not rewrite historical contribution records or prior commitments. Support and contribution questions: support@naijawecan.org. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
